Job seekers
The Lagos State Government has advised Lagosians to be wary of dubious and faceless recruitment agencies/organizations that are fraudulently seeking patronage from unsuspecting job seekers.
In a statement by the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, It stated that the Government was worried by the increasing activities of unscrupulous individuals and organizations, employing
various tactics to advertise for phony job placement and in the course take advantage of unsuspecting innocent citizens.
While reaffirming the present administration’s commitment to improve security and protect lives and properties of all residents, the Commissioner warns criminally-minded individuals and organizations to desist from these despicable acts as anyone caught will be prosecuted according to the Law.
The state government also urged the residents to always ascertain the genuineness of all job advertisement and patronize only those that can be traced and verified to be authentic.
It would be recalled that the House of Assembly, in a resolution passed recently, allay fears on the illegal and dangerous activities of faceless recruitment agencies/organizations and called for public sensitization and awareness on activities of illegal organizations seeking patronage for non-existing jobs and defrauding innocent people in the process.
