Teen sensation Marcus Rashford will be offered a new bumper contract by Manchester United to keep him at Old Trafford.

But the 18-year-old wants to postpone talks until the

end of the season - so he can prove he is the real deal.

Rashford has exploded onto the scene with four goals in two sensational games,including Sunday’s brace to blow a hole in Arsenal’s title ambitions.

He is currently on £1,500-a-week, which works out at £375 a goal so far, but that would rocket to £10,000-a-week under the terms of the new deal on the table.

Rashford has another year left on his contract, but United are keen to secure his future and ward off other clubs by confirming the new agreement as soon as possible.

United accept Rashford deserves a new contract to reflect his new-found status as a key member of Louis van Gaal’s first-team squad.

And the Old Trafford hierarchy know there will be no shortage of Premier League clubs trying to lure Rashford away if they do not act swiftly and secure his future.

The deal United are ready to offer Rashford is understood to be incentive-based, with the potential to rise to £15,000-a-week if certain clauses are completed.

The talented teenager believes he has already fulfilled his short-term objective – a place in United’s first-team squad –with the prospect of more action between now and the end of the season.

As as result, although will be offered a lucrative new deal, Rashford is willing to wait until the end of the summer to prove himself before determining his future.

Wayne Rooney went on to become a record-breaking goalscorer for England as well as United after bursting onto the scene as a teenager for Everton.

But the other side of the coin is Federico Macheda, who scored on his United first-team debut as a 17-year-old seven years ago, but now plays for Championship play-off chasers Cardiff.
