Diego Simone went charging down the touchline in jubiliant celebration on Tuesday night as Atletico Madrid made it into Friday's Champions League draw with a dramatic penalty shoot-out win over PSV Eindhoven.
In 210 minutes of football Phillip Cocu's Eredivisie leaders had frustrated Simeone's Atletico side but they held their nerve to win in spot-kick sudden death.
Luciano Narsingh had been brought on with two minutes left of extra time and he missed his penalty for PSV with Simeone urging Atletico's supporters to raise the noise levels as he approached the spot.

They roared and he hit the crossbar, leaving full back Juanfran to score the goal that sent Atletico through. It is the second year running Atletico have triumphed on penalties. Last season it was Fernando Torres who settled it for them.
This time he was a second half substitute as the two sides cancelled each other out in the first 45 minutes with both goalkeepers on top.
Jan Oblak saved from Jurgen Locadia and Jeroen Zoet kept out Antoine Griezmann's shot. With no away goal in their favour Simeone's team were nervous throughout and it was PSV who had the clearest chance of the game.
Locadia's second half shot didn't have too much power but it was creeping inside the far post and Oblak had to get down quickly to his left and push the ball on to the post with an outstretched forearm.
That was as close as the two sides came to scoring from open play. Atletico have only conceded three goals in the Champions League so far but they could stop none of PSV's penalties as Marco Van Ginkel, Andres Guardado, Davy Propper, Jefrey Bruma and Hector Moreno all scored.
But Simeone's magic on the touchline worked the trick as the crowd seemed to get to Narsingh and send the home side through.
