Man City could move for Kroos

Manchester City have reportedly pulled out of the race for Paul Pogba due to the midfielder’s astronomical price tag and lukewarm form.
But, the Daily Express say, Guardiola is still keen to bring in another central midfielder... and that man is Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos.
City have already brought in one German deep-lying playmaker this summer in the form of Ilkay Gundogan. But the ex-Dortmund man has consistently suffered with injury problems and Guardiola is thought to one further options for that role.
Kroos was a key figure as Real Madrid won the Champions League last season, and Guardiola believes he will fit the bill perfectly for the style of football he wants City to play.

Watford 'reject £25m bid for Deeney'

Watford have reportedly rejected a £25million offer from Leicester City for captain Troy Deeney.
The Watford Observer say the Premier League champions have made the 27-year-old striker their primary transfer target this summer.
Watford, however, are loathe to lose their talisman, who scored 15 goals in all competitions last season.
This was the Foxes’ second bid for Deeney, who signed a new five-year deal with the club last summer.
It remains to be seen whether Leicester will return for a third time. What is clear, though, is that Deeney would fit perfectly into the ethos and style of Claudio Ranieri’s side.

Guardiola to rival Barcelona for Nolito

Nolito enjoyed a brilliant season with Celta Vigo - catching the eye of Barcelona in January - and his continued his impressive form for Spain at Euro 2016.
The 29-year-old scored against Turkey in their previous game and his displays have not gone unnoticed in England.
New Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is keen to bolster is attacking options and is prepared to make make an offer for Nolito.
The Mail on Sunday say Guardiola will offer £14.1million for the man who has five goals and four assists in his 12-match international career.

Mourinho planning swap deal with Chelsea

Jose Mourinho is willing to trade Italian full-back Matteo Darmian to land Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, writes Steve Bates in the Sunday People.
Manchester United ‘s incoming boss has already prepared a shopping list of stars he wants next season - and his former Stamford Bridge holding midfielder Matic figures prominently.
Manager Mourinho wants his United team to have more of a physical presence andhis signing of powerful Villarreal defender Eric Bailly and now his pursuit of Matic is clear evidence he wants to beef up his new side.
Although defender Darmian is a first-choice starter for Italy boss Antonio Conte, who is heading to Chelsea as manager once Euro 2016 is over, he had a mixed first season at Old Trafford after his £12million move from Torino last summer.

Koeman determined to get the best out of Barkley

Ronald Koeman says the gloves are now off as far as Ross Barkley is concerned – and Everton’s new boss is going to make him box-to-box clever, writes Neil Moxley in the Sunday People.
The Dutchman breezed into Goodison Park and wasted little time putting down a marker for England midfielder Barkley.
Newcomer Koeman, while ­acknowledging Barkley’s talent, said it is time for him to ­showcase his skills in order to become a regular starter at international level.
He said: “I need to see Ross doing his training sessions and get an opinion on him. He will play in one of the midfield positions, but I don’t know where that will be.
“He is a vital young player for Everton. At the moment he is playing behind the striker. It’s more of an offensive position than defensive. And I like him as a player.
“He can play ­either side and has a good view of the pitch. But he needs to improve. He is not a talent anymore, he is a national team player and the expectations of him are high.
“He needs support, and he will get that. I’m looking forward to working with him and making him a better player. But I can only really see when he comes back from training.”

Arsenal set for battle over Inter's Murillo

Arsenal will battle with Bayern Munich and Zenit St Petersburg for the signing of Jeison Murillo, according to Sky Sports Italia.
The Gunners are believed to be keen on the Inter Milan centre-back with manager Arsene Wenger keen to stop the leaks which prevented them from winning the Premier League last season.
It is reported that Arsenal have already made contact with Murillo’s agent in a bid to push through the deal.
But competition from some of Europe’s biggest names could mean that the Gunners struggle to complete the transfer.

Norwich closing in on Reading youngster

Norwich are trying to tie up a deal for Reading youngster Aaron Tshibola.
The Canaries have agreed a fee with Reading - understood to be in the region of £2m - for the 21 year-old.
And Norwich are keen to get a deal done quickly amid growing interest in the highly-rated midfielder.
Celtic are one of the club’s also keen on Tshibola.
New Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has been tipped off about Tshibola by his new No.2 Chris Davies.
Davies left Reading, where he was first team assistant, to work alongside Rodgers.

City refuse to meet Aubameyang asking price

Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund are involved in a stand-off over the fee for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Pep Guardiola and City chiefs do not want to meet the £65million asking fee for the Gabon striker.
City have remained stubborn and stuck to their word in previous deals in the past and will not pay more than what they believe is a reasonable price for a player.
It means that the deal could be in doubt, although City have not yet ruled out their interest.
Guardiola might have to turn his attention to Spain forward Nolito, who has been impressing for Spain at the Euros this summer.

Skrtel to quit Liverpool for Roma

Martin Skrtel is set to quit Liverpool and join Roma this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Slovakian centre-back is believed to have agreed terms on a three-year deal with the Serie A club and is now waiting on the two clubs to agree a fee.
Skrtel’s current Liverpool deal expires in the summer of 2018 but he is widely expected to leave the club this summer.
However, no deal is expected to be completed until his representation at Euro 2016 this summer is over.

Arsenal face competition for Lille's Boufal

Arsenal will have to beat off competition to sign Lille sensation Sofiane Boufal, according to the Observer.
Boufal’s agent has confirmed that the 22-year-old has already held talks with Barcelona, while Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are also keen on signing the youngster.
Yvan Le Mee said: “We did have a meeting with the leadership of FC Barcelona in the last few weeks. There is interest.
“Now the reflection is whether Sofiane Boufal will go to Barcelona to compete with MSN (Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez and Neymar) or should he go to a club where he is going to start matches and express his exceptional talent.
“We have also initiated discussions with three other clubs that interest us, but they either have or will change their coach or the coach is in charge of a national team at the Euros.
“In England, there is interest, but the English market is just beginning. A transfer of 20 and 25 million euros is not resolved in two weeks, of course.”

Arsenal interested in United's Blind

Manchester United defender Daley Blind has emerged as a target for Arsenal , writes Steve Bates in the Sunday People.
The Gunners are looking to pounce on the £16million man with Mourinho yet to make a decision on whether the versatile star is his type of player.
Reports recently have suggested that Blind is set to be axed from the United squad but he responded by saying he is looking forward to playing for Mourinho.
Blind told NOS: “I am looking forward to working with Mourinho. We will have to wait and see whether anything changes for me.
“I will just give my all and work hard. Mourinho is a manager who has achieved a lot and I am keen to work with him.”

Besiktas snub Liverpool's Balotelli

Kop flop Mario Balotelli has suffered another snub after Besiktas claimed they don’t want him, writes David Anderson.
Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola claimed Besiktas wanted to end Balotelli’s misery on Merseyside by signing him from Liverpool.
However Besiktas sporting director Erdal Torunogullari has rejected Raiola’s claims, saying they are not interested in signing the controversial Italian striker.
Torunogullari claims Besiktas’ priority is hanging on to star striker Mario Gomez, who scored 26 league goals last season.
“We know Raiola well,” he said. “He’s even said Balotelli will go to Besiktas, but it’s not like that.
“We’re not interested, our priority is to hold on to Mario Gomez.”

Wenger fears Vardy will stay at Leicester

Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal target Jamie Vardy will stay at Leicester.
The Gunners triggered the £20million release clause in the England striker’s contract earlier this month.
But Vardy, who smashed 24 goals for the Premier League-winning Foxes last season, was remaining tight-lipped when quizzed on his future on Saturday.
However, Arsenal boss Wenger expects the former Fleetwood frontman to remain at the King Power Stadium.
He said: “Jamie Vardy is, at the moment at Leicester and from what I know he will stay at Leicester.”

Ryan Giggs set to leave Manchester United

Manchester United bosses believe Ryan Giggs is ready to walk away from the club, writes Steve Bates in the Sunday People .
And close friends of the star believe he could even take a break from football before trying to get into management next year.
Senior club figures expect an announcement from the Welshman in the next few days - and they believe he will turn down the chance to stay on with the Old Trafford giants and work with new boss Jose Mourinho .
Giggs, 40, has been assistant manager under Louis van Gaal for the past two seasons, playing a key role both on the training pitch and in preparing the presentation about the opposition show to the squad before matches.
But Mourinho is bringing his own close-knit coaching team with him - leaving the United legend, who has been at the club for 29 years, with the offer of a reduced role as youth team boss.

Liverpool's Benteke wanted by Juventus

Christian Benteke is being considered by Juventus as a replacement for Alvaro Motata, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Spain striker Morata is expected to be bought back by Real Madrid with a view to sell him on for a profit later this summer.
And should the move go through, Juve are laying out contingency plans for the deal.
Liverpool striker Benteke and Everton front man Lukaku are both allegedly on the list of options, with fellow Belgian Michy Batshuayi also being considered.
It is believed that they will not make any attempts to sign a replacement until any deal for Morata is completed.

Arsenal set to offer Wenger new deal

Arsenal are ready to offer manager Arsene Wenger a new deal, writes Mirror Football’s Steve Stammers.
The Gunners ‘ 66-year-old boss will start next season with just one year left on his contract and the North London giants’ hierarchy want to extend that by an additional two years.
There was unrest among a section of the club’s fans last season - with celebrity fan Piers Morgan particularly vocal - as they failed to capitalise on the inner turmoil at both Manchester clubs and Chelsea as their title challenge amounted to nothing.
However, Wenger made it clear he intended to stay and signalled his intent to strengthen his squad with the signing of Switzerland international midfielder Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach for £32million.
Wenger is also keen to sign Jamie Vardy from Leicester for £20m, to give his squad more firepower.

Liverpool gossip round-up

Southampton are demanding that Liverpool pay £40million if they want to sign Sadio Mane, according to the Sun on Sunday.
Jurgen Klopp is reported to be increasing his efforts to land the Senegal international this summer but Saints are determined not to lose their man.
They want to ensure that they receive a bumper pay day if their star man is to depart the south coast for Merseyside in the coming months.
Should Liverpool agree to stump up the asking fee, they will also have to pay out big money on his wages as the star will reportedly ask for £125,000-a-week.

Everton warned off Newcastle' Wijnaldum

New Everton boss Ronald Koeman has been warned off Georginio Wijnaldum after Newcastle put a £25million price-tag on his head, writes Tom Hopkinson in the Sunday People.
Koeman expressed an interest in signing his fellow Dutchman when he was in charge at Southampton, but the player opted for St James’ Park a year ago.
Wiljnaldum, 25, cost the Toon around £14.5million when he arrived from PSV Eindhoven last summer and struck 11 goals in the Premier League, all at home.
However, his form tailed off towards the end of the campaign and he couldn’t prevent Newcastle getting relegated.

Arsenal gossip round-up

Arsenal have been given a huge boost in their pursuit of Spanish striker Nolito, report the Daily Star Sunday.
The Celta Vigo front man is set to leave his club this summer after the president admitted that they will struggle to keep hold of him.
Nolito, who is currently impressing with Spain at Euro 2016, has a release clause in his contract at Carlos Mourino is adamant that someone will pick him up.
He said: “I think that Nolito will leave Celta this year. There are no numbers, no negotiations. He has a buy-out clause of €18m (£13.8m). Who pays it can sign him.”
Chelsea and Manchester City are also considering a transfer for the 29-year-old.

Manchester United gossip round-up

Wayne Rooney is set to sign a new contract to ensure that he can finish his career with Manchester United, according to the Sun on Sunday.
The captain has impressed United bosses with his forays into midfield for both club and country and is reportedly keen on seeing out the rest of his career as Old Trafford’s midfield maestro.
Rooney has three years left on his current contract but believes that he can remain in the United team beyond that period.
New boss Mourinho is set to keep Rooney as his club captain and give him time to show what he can do in the middle of the park.

Manchester United plot transfer swap with Chelsea of Nemanja Matic for Matteo Darmian

Jose Mourinho’s transfer targets are fast emerging as he plots a revolution at Old Trafford and a sensational swap deal is being proposed by Manchester United with the Special One’s former club Chelsea.
The Portuguese, despite his woes last season, is still an admirer of Nemanja Matic and is prepared to offer new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte the Italy full-back Matteo Darmian in return for the Serbian.
The logistics of the deal remain blurry and the Blues appear reluctant to feed any of Mourinho’s success with the Red Devils.

Bonucci to join Mourinho at Old Trafford?

Manchester United have already added one centre-back this summer, with Eric Bailly joining the Red Devils from Villarreal for £25m, but Jose Mourinho clearly craves a more experienced head to push Chris Smalling and the Ivorian international.
Leonardo Bonucci, now perhaps the finest ball-playing centre-back in Europe, has emerged as the Portuguese’s preferred target, so say the Star.
The Juventus defender would not come cheap though, as the Bianconeri will demand £50m for the 29-year-old should they opt to sell the former Inter player.

Lukaku and Benteke on Juve's radar?

Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke are both reportedly being considered by Juventus in case they have to replace Alvaro Morata.

Kruse unsure where future lies

Wolfsburg’s Max Kruse has revealed that he could leave the club this summer.
The forward, who has been a reported target of Tottenham Hotspur, is believed to have handed in a transfer request.
But even he admits that he does not know exactly where his future lies.
He told Bild: “There is already much discussed in recent days, in terms of a possible change of mine. I do not rule out. I say in all honesty, it is possible. I myself am very curious to see what happens. I really do not know yet.”

Nani 'reaches agreement with Inter Milan'

Former Manchester United winger Nani has reportedly reached a deal with Inter Milan.
The Fenerbahce star has agreed terms on a €3.2million-a-year contract with the Serie A giants, according to Turkish outlet SporX.
It is claimed that the two clubs now have to come to an agreement on the transfer fee before the deal is completed.
However, it is thought Fener will hold out for his €8million release clause.
Nani is currently representing Portugal at Euro 2016.

Premier League trio tracking Zaza?

Three Premier League clubs are reportedly scrambling for Simone Zaza’s signature.
The Juventus striker climbed off the bench to help Italy to victory against Sweden on Friday.
And his exploits have not gone unnoticed, with West Ham, Southampton and Everton all keeping tabs on the striker, according to Sky Italy.
